This figure significantly increases from the 1.3 million units sold between October 2023 and March 2024, a period during which developer Remedy celebrated the horror sequel as its fastest-selling title.

Remedy's recent investor financial report highlights this milestone, stating that the game, boosted by the release of The Lake House expansion and the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition, has commenced royalty accrual after recovering development and marketing expenditures.

The studio also offered a glimpse into future projects, revealing that Control 2, developed in collaboration with Annapurna, is nearing completion of its production readiness phase and will enter full production by late February 2025. Simultaneously, the Max Payne 1&2 Remake is progressing steadily in full production.

Similarly, FBC: Firebreak, Remedy's multiplayer Control spin-off, remains in full production following a successful closed technical test in December.
