Assassin's Creed Shadows offers an expansive RPG experience with abundant content. While completing the main story requires significant time investment, numerous activities remain available post-completion. Here's what unlocks after finishing Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Post-Game Content Overview
Continuing Your Journey After Completing the Main Story
Essentially, you retain access to all pre-completion activities. Assassin's Creed Shadows features a vast open world filled with side content unaffected by main story progression. Completionists can freely explore every aspect of feudal Japan after the credits roll.
Ubisoft plans to introduce weekly Animus challenges post-launch, ensuring fresh content even for players who achieve 100% completion.
Understanding the Epilogue and Endgame Content
The story continues beyond the initial credits sequence. In my playthrough, these appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board alongside Yasuke and Naoe's primary missions. However, Act 3 and Epilogue trophies remained locked. To experience the complete conclusion, you must finish all character-specific storylines for Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro, then return to the Hideout to speak with Tomiko.
Exclusive faction-themed gear becomes available near the story's conclusion - Assassin armor for Naoe and Templar equipment for Yasuke. These specially designed sets enhance each protagonist's unique combat abilities while paying homage to series veterans.
The endgame allows continuous character progression up to the maximum level cap long after completing the main narrative.
Future Content Roadmap
While the base game's narrative concludes at launch, forthcoming updates promise additional experiences. The Animus will deliver regular new challenges, and the in-game store will likely expand its inventory. The confirmed Claws of Awaji expansion, arriving in 2025, introduces the new Awaji Island location with 10+ hours of additional gameplay.
Assassin's Creed Shadows is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
