Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Receives Classic Modes and Map Updates
Following its recent launch, Black Ops 6 is adding two highly anticipated game modes and a beloved map. Treyarch, the developer, announced via Twitter (X) that the popular "Infected" mode will be available this week, followed by the iconic Nuketown map on November 1st.
Infected and Nuketown Enhance Black Ops 6
Infected, a staple in the Call of Duty franchise, pits players against AI-controlled zombies. Nuketown, first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), is a classic multiplayer map set in a 1950s-era nuclear test site. Activision previously confirmed plans for regular post-launch content additions, promising a steady stream of new modes and updates. Black Ops 6 launched with 11 standard multiplayer modes, including variations with disabled Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode.
Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Player Concerns
A recent update addressed various issues reported by players. These fixes included improvements to XP rates in several modes (Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight), along with several bug fixes:
- Global: Resolved issues with loadout highlighting, Bailey's animation in the Operators menu, and the "Mute Licensed Music" setting.
- Maps: Addressed exploits allowing players to leave the intended play areas in Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card. Red Card also received stability improvements. General in-game interaction stability was also enhanced.
- Multiplayer: Fixed matchmaking issues preventing quick player replacements, prevented private matches from forfeiting with zero players on a team, and addressed a persistent sound issue with the Dreadnought's missile.
While some issues, like death upon loadout selection in Search & Destroy, remain, Treyarch and Raven Software are actively working on further patches. Despite these minor launch hiccups, Black Ops 6 is considered by many to be a top-tier Call of Duty title, particularly praising its enjoyable campaign.
