Unlocking All Dark Instruments in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Goro Majima's "Sea Dog" fighting style in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth boasts four devastating finishers, but acquiring all the Dark Instruments required is a significant undertaking. This guide details the steps to obtain each instrument.
The Dark God's Violin:
This is the first and only mandatory Dark Instrument for story progression. It's obtained during Chapter 2, after a crew member directs you to meet an old friend. This leads to a confrontation with the Devil Flag pirates, culminating in a battle to retrieve the Pharoh Stone. Defeating the Devil Flag fleet, focusing fire on the boss ship, unlocks the Violin. A subsequent 100-enemy brawl on a nearby island allows you to test your new finisher. This encounter also introduces the four Devil Flag Captains: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus, initiating the side quest to collect all Dark Instruments. Note: Defeating the Devil Flags isn't essential for the main story.
The Dark God's Ocarina:
After the initial brawl, collect 70 Devil Flags by defeating their ships and clearing occupied islands. This unlocks Atali Island. Prepare a strong landing party; multiple waves of enemies await. Defeating Captain Yakuza within the island's treasure chest grants the Ocarina.
The Dark God's Guitar:
Following Captain Yakuza's defeat, a deceptive lead to the Pharoh Stone triggers another 100-enemy fight. Next, you'll learn Zeus is headed to Flame Island. This requires a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags. Conquer four treasure islands (Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, Scorching Heat) – remember, health items are unavailable on these islands. A subsequent fleet battle, focusing on the boss ship, leads to a final confrontation with Captain Ronin on Flame Island (bring Jason, Masaru, Minami, and Saejima). Victory yields the Guitar.
The Dark God's Saxophone:
Reaching Pirate Rank Four and collecting 220 Devil Flags is necessary. Navigate to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse, triggering a battle with the Devil Flag fleet guarding Frost Island. Four additional islands (Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, Glacial) provide further opportunities for flag collection. Defeat Captain Shinobi's fleet and the island's waves of pirates. A final battle against Captain Shinobi in a cave, followed by a recovery area, precedes the acquisition of the Saxophone. A final, challenging two-stage battle against Zeus to rescue Misaki concludes the quest (though obtaining the Saxophone doesn't require this final fight).
