Days Gone Remastered arrives on PlayStation 5, introducing new features such as a permadeath mode, a dedicated speedrun mode, and more.
Sony revealed this enhanced version of Bend Studio's post-apocalyptic adventure during its February 2025 State of Play presentation. This upgraded re-release includes support for VRR and PS5 Pro, but the main attractions are its numerous new gameplay additions. Alongside the permadeath and speedrun modes, players will find an improved photo mode and expanded accessibility options. A new arcade-style mode, Horde Assault, challenges Deacon St. John to face off against larger swarms of Freakers than ever before.
Days Gone Remastered launches on April 25, 2025. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remaster for $10. Watch the debut trailer for Days Gone Remastered below.
Days Gone Remastered continues Sony's initiative to bring popular PS4 titles to PS5 with new enhancements. This spring, it will join other upgraded releases like The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.
While Days Gone is already available on PC, players on that platform won't be left out. Sony announced that PC players can access the new modes through the $10 Broken Roads DLC. This purchase is also required to enable the new accessibility features, DualSense support, and the enhanced photo mode on PC.
Further details were shared in a recent PlayStation.Blog post. Bend Studio states this remaster was built specifically for PS5, featuring improved visuals available in either Performance or Quality mode. The experience is further enhanced on PS5 Pro, and the game makes full use of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
New players can purchase Days Gone Remastered on PS5 for $49.99. Pre-orders begin soon, offering eight exclusive PSN avatars and five early in-game unlocks. For a full summary of today's State of Play announcements, check out our roundup here.
