Turbolento Games is launching its high-tech rubber duck simulation on Android. Welcome to Placid Plastic Duck Simulator, where you observe a plastic duck gently drifting across a swimming pool. Originally launched on Netflix last year, the game is now available as a standalone Android app.
Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is Real—Not a Joke
The game only asks for your attention. You arrive at a seaside pool. You float. Gradually, other ducks join in, each with its own style and personality. It's all about absorbing the atmosphere, quite literally.
You can name your ducks from the Collection screen. Their names will hover above them like dreamy thoughts. Call it amusing or ironic—when a real heatwave rages outside, Placid Plastic Duck Simulator delivers a peaceful little escape.
The world shifts around you. Daylight fades, stars emerge, the radio plays a nostalgic melody before you turn it off to listen to the waves.
Morning returns, and you drift gently into a second pool. Somewhere far in the distance, a plane speeds across the sky. Here, your only task is to simply be.
There are 50 ducks in total, many with playful and unusual designs. Some interact in quirky ways when they bump into each other or into pool objects.
From time to time, you will unlock one of 15 achievements just by observing what happens. One minute you’re enjoying a sunset, the next a UFO could appear over the water.
With two pools to discover and a growing family of rubber ducks content to float along, Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is definitely worth a try. Download it now from the Google Play Store for $1.99. If you’d like a preview, check this out!
