Efficiently Farming Sharp Fangs in Monster Hunter Wilds
Sharp Fangs are a valuable crafting resource in Monster Hunter Wilds, useful for early-game gear like Chatacabra and Talioth armor. This guide details how to locate and farm them effectively.
Early in the game, explore the Windward Plains. Optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding" provide access and a generous 50-minute timer. Consider consuming a meal for buffs before embarking.
Focus on Area 8 of the Windward Plains, its largest area with numerous smaller monsters. While several creatures can drop Sharp Fangs, Gaijos are the most reliable source.
Targeting Gaijos
Gaijos, crocodile-like leviathans, are typically found near or in riverbeds. Their location is indicated by purple diamonds on the interactive map. They possess low health, making them easy targets even with starting weapons. Each defeated Gaijo guarantees one Sharp Fang upon carving.
Four to five Gaijos typically spawn in the Windward Plains. Repeat optional quests to quickly replenish their numbers for efficient farming.
Talioths as an Alternative
Talioths, bipedal creatures found in packs in Areas 8 and 13, also have a chance (though not guaranteed) to drop Sharp Fangs. They are slightly tougher than Gaijos but still manageable early on. Hunting them also progresses the "The Desert is Demanding" quest.
