New Game of Thrones Illustrated Edition Set for November Release

by Camila Jun 02,2025

George R.R. Martin recently shared an exciting update on his blog, revealing the cover art for the upcoming illustrated edition of A Feast for Crows, the fourth book in the Song of Ice and Fire series. This special edition marks another milestone in the collection, following the illustrated treatments of A Storm of Swords, A Clash of Kings, and A Game of Thrones.

The illustrated version of A Feast for Crows is set to release on November 4, 2025, and can be preordered from major retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Target. Fans eager to complete their collection will be thrilled to know that this edition will also include a foreword by acclaimed author Joe Abercrombie. Additionally, select interior illustrations will be revealed later this spring to build anticipation for the release.

Preorder options:

  • Amazon
  • Barnes & Noble
  • Target

This new edition not only adds beautiful artwork by Jeffrey R. McDonald but also bridges the gap between fans' desires for fresh content and George R.R. Martin's slower progress on The Winds of Winter. While the last major update on the sixth book came in December 2024, with Martin noting he may not finish it in his lifetime, the focus now shifts toward completing the illustrated series. With the fourth installment on its way, it seems likely that all five core books will receive this special treatment before the saga concludes.

For those interested in diving into the world of Westeros, the first three illustrated editions are already available.

Upcoming Releases in the Song of Ice and Fire Series:

A Game of Thrones: The Illustrated Edition

A Clash of Kings: The Illustrated Edition

A Storm of Swords: The Illustrated Edition
