A new comparison trailer highlights that, unlike the original game where loading screens interrupted travel to and from Hogsmeade, the Switch 2 version offers seamless area transitions.
That’s not all. The Nintendo Switch 2 enhances frame rates, textures, shadows, and color vibrancy across Hogwarts and its environs, as showcased in the trailer below:
Curious about mouse controls? So are we. Warner Bros. has yet to share details, but we speculate they might enhance spell-casting interactions.

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world, action-packed RPG set in the 1800s wizarding universe. Starting as a fifth-year student, players explore iconic and new locations, tame magical creatures, brew potions, hone spell-casting skills, upgrade abilities, and shape their character into the witch or wizard of their dreams. It launches on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside the console on June 5.
We loved Hogwarts Legacy, giving it a 9/10 in the IGN Hogwarts Legacy review, stating: "In nearly every aspect, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG we’ve always dreamed of playing."
