Iconic Bethesda Voice Actor of Skyrim, Fallout 3, and More Shares Heartfelt Message Amid Recovery

by Ava Mar 15,2025

Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his work in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and countless other titles, has shared a moving message of gratitude following a frightening health scare. Last week, he was found "barely alive" in his Atlanta hotel room, where he was attending a benefit event for the National Alzheimer's Association.

A video posted on a GoFundMe page, which has already raised an incredible $174,653 to assist with medical expenses and other bills, reveals that Johnson was in a coma. "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you," he shared.

His wife, Kim Johnson, raised the alarm after he failed to appear at the event. Hotel security and emergency medical technicians responded, finding Johnson with a barely detectable pulse.

"Rumors of my demise, well, they weren't exaggerated," Johnson admitted. "It was very close, very close. But I'm still here." He credits his wife's quick thinking and the swift actions of his son, who contacted hotel security, for saving his life. "They took me to the hospital, put me in a coma. I was in there for five days before I found out that my wonderful friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker and Kim had put together this GoFundMe."

Johnson expressed deep appreciation to numerous individuals and organizations: the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family, Ted Leonsis (chairman of the Washington Capitals parent company) for a generous $25,000 donation, Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker for their tireless efforts, and Bethesda for their public show of support. "You say that I'm your friend. I am," he said, addressing Bethesda. "Always will be. Love you guys." He concluded with a heartfelt message to his fans: "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere. It's going to be a while as I work my way back, but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and having you all hear me then. Cheers."

Johnson's extensive voice acting career spans film, television, and video games, with a significant portion dedicated to Bethesda titles. His memorable roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
