These summaries include mild spoilers, covering characters, settings, and key plot points.

1. Jurassic Park (1993)

The "Jurassic Park" saga begins with the 1993 film, which adapts Michael Crichton's novel. The story introduces the concept of cloning dinosaurs from DNA extracted from prehistoric mosquitoes trapped in amber. Entrepreneur John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) aims to create a thrilling theme park on the fictional Isla Nublar. Paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill), paleobotanist Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) are invited to evaluate the park's safety. Joined by Hammond's grandchildren, Lex and Tim, their visit turns perilous when a tropical storm and sabotage disable the park's security, unleashing the dinosaurs. The group must then navigate a dangerous escape from velociraptors and a T-Rex.

2. The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)

Set four years after the original, "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" returns to the franchise with Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) alongside new character Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore). The action shifts to Isla Sorna, another island where Hammond had been cloning dinosaurs. Abandoned, the island's dinosaurs now roam freely. A corporate battle for control of InGen, Hammond's company, leads two factions to the island—one led by Hammond's nephew Peter Ludlow (Arliss Howard), aiming to exploit the dinosaurs, and another by Hammond, Malcolm, and Harding, who wish to establish a nature preserve. Their plans are disrupted by the island's territorial dinosaurs, leading to intense chase sequences and a T-Rex escape in San Diego.
