Mahjong Soul Unveils Lunar New Year Outfits and Characters

As Lunar New Year approaches, Yostar is celebrating their hit title Mahjong Soul.

• Three new characters are arriving alongside limited-time outfits and decorations.
• Hurry, as this offer runs only until February 13th.

Just weeks ago, the Gregorian calendar wrapped up, leaving many of us in the West feeling a bit down. However, across the ocean in the East, festivities are just beginning with the arrival of the magnificent Lunar New Year! Yostar is marking this occasion with a major new event in their popular puzzle game Mahjong Soul.

What to Expect

The update introduces two new characters tied to the upcoming Year of the Snake. Hua Yubai and her sister, Hua Yuqing, are key figures at the Floating Dreams Theater, bringing plenty of melodrama and intrigue that perfectly suit their roles.

This Lunar New Year update is no surprise. Often referred to as Chinese New Year, this calendar event aligns perfectly with one of China's most celebrated cultural exports: the intricate and rewarding game of mahjong.

Moonlight Rising

But the festivities don't stop there! Four new limited-time outfits from the Echo of Rejoicing series are available to celebrate this important date. This includes animated attire for Kana Fujita and Zechsd, as well as fresh looks for Chiori Mikami and Sara. Additionally, the Day of Celebration collection returns temporarily, and a set of bamboo-themed decorations has been added to the gacha pool.

While I may not fully grasp the intricacies of mahjong, it remains a classic pastime with massive global appeal. Did you know that America experienced a huge mahjong craze in the early 20th century? It's truly fascinating how much there is to learn.
