The stress test for Baldur's Gate III's eighth, and potentially final, major patch has begun. While some Sony console players received early access, players opting out of the stress test are advised to reinstall the game.
Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play, uniting PC and console players. Players with linked Larian accounts can now invite friends regardless of platform. Surprisingly, even modded games can participate in crossplay, provided all mods used by the PC player are available on Mac and consoles, and the host's lobby doesn't exceed ten mods.
Multiplayer receives a significant boost with the addition of split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.
Beyond crossplay, Patch 8 boasts a customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding depth and variety to gameplay. Numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, though some issues may persist. A complete changelog for the stress test is available on the game's official page.
