Meta Quest 3S Deal Tops Prime Day Offer

by Nathan Jan 08,2026

For just under two more days, the Meta Store is running a special promotion on its popular Meta Quest 3S 128GB VR headset, now only $249.99 after an instant $50 discount. While the price cut matches Amazon’s Prime Day offer, this bundle stands out by including a copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow VR—a $49.99 value—at no extra cost. Available exclusively through the Meta Store (while retailers like Amazon, Target, and Best Buy list it at $300), this offer expires on July 24.

The Meta Quest 3S continues to be regarded as the top value in VR gaming. Not only does it cost hundreds less than most competing headsets—including Meta’s own Quest 3—but it also operates as a standalone system, eliminating the need for a gaming PC.

Released shortly after the Quest 3, the Quest 3S offers an ideal entry point for VR newcomers. It’s priced $200 lower than the Quest 3 even before discounts, yet retains nearly all of its core features. Both models are powered by the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, ensuring comparable game performance. The Quest 3S also includes the Touch Plus controllers, which are lightweight and deliver precise inside-out tracking without external base stations. In addition, six cameras positioned in two clusters on the headset enable AR passthrough functionality.

What do you sacrifice for the $200 savings? The main trade-off is in the optics. The Quest 3S has a lower native resolution and a smaller field of view than the Quest 3. It also relies on Fresnel lenses—similar to the Quest 2—rather than the pancake lenses in the Quest 3, which offer a wider sweet spot and sharper visuals. VR enthusiasts may prefer the Quest 3 for its superior clarity at a reasonable premium, but for casual gamers, the Quest 3S delivers excellent performance across the board.

A key advantage of the Meta Quest 3S is that it’s a fully untethered device. That means you can dive into games like Beat Saber or Pistol Whip without owning a high-end gaming PC or a PlayStation 5. In IGN’s 9/10 review of the Quest 3S, Gabriel Moss noted that "its raw processing power, full-color passthrough, and responsive Touch Plus controllers make the Quest 3S a fantastic standalone VR headset, bringing entry-level mixed-reality gaming to the masses—arguably for the very first time."
