Mortal Kombat 1 added a secret fighter with a reference to a legendary rock band

This week's Mortal Kombat 1 update delivered a surprise: Conan the Barbarian joined the roster, but a truly unexpected addition stole the show – Floyd, a pink-clad ninja! This isn't a joke; he's a legitimate, albeit secret, fighter.

Floyd is a clear nod to Pink Floyd, his introduction mirroring the band's Dark Side of the Moon album cover's light dispersion effect. Interestingly, his moveset is a blend of other ninjas' techniques, borrowing Sub-Zero's freezing abilities and Scorpion's spear attacks. Adding to the fun, he boasts 1337 health points.

Long-time Mortal Kombat fans might experience a sense of déjà vu. This secret fighter echoes the original game's hidden character, Reptile, who was notoriously difficult to defeat and whose moves were a compilation of other ninjas' techniques.

Unlocking Floyd currently appears somewhat random, though he offers clues about required challenges. The community is actively seeking the precise method to trigger this encounter, but a definitive solution remains elusive.
