Bandai Namco made a major announcement focused on the smallest of details last night, officially revealing that Little Nightmares 3 will launch on October 10. If that date feels too distant, here's some welcome news: anyone who pre-orders the digital version of Little Nightmares 3 will get immediate early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, allowing you to revisit the original game before the new one arrives.
Additionally, a brand-new season of the Little Nightmares podcast, The Sounds of Nightmares, is on the horizon, along with a comic book titled Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere, also launching in October. Even sooner, in September, a young adult novel called Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones will be released. It’s a lot to take in, right?
The comic book, published by Titan Comics, follows two parallel narratives. Hush, a quiet and mute girl, awakens inside a prison cell. In her desperation to break free, she forms an alliance with another inmate, Mono, who possesses a deeper understanding of this unsettling world. Together, they must find an escape route from a profoundly dark dungeon.
Meanwhile, the novel Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones, authored by E.C. Myers and published by Scholastic, centers on Ruse, a young child who regains consciousness in an unfamiliar, trembling room alongside two other children she doesn't recognize—a small girl with a frayed rope hanging from her neck and a gaunt-looking boy wearing a tattered mask over his mouth and nose.
Here's another surprise reveal: Bandai Namco also shared a teaser for a stop-motion project created in partnership with studio Taller del Chucho. While details are still scarce, the publisher has promised that more information will be shared at a later date.
Little Nightmares 3—the first installment in the series developed by Supermassive Games—is set to launch on PC, PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X and S, as well as last-generation systems, including the Nintendo Switch. All platforms except the Switch versions are available for pre-order now (Switch pre-orders will open at a "later date"). Here's a breakdown of what each edition of Little Nightmares 3 includes:
All Little Nightmares 3 Editions
Standard Edition — includes the base game.
Digital Deluxe Edition — includes the base game, the Secrets of The Spiral Expansion Pass, and the Residents Costumes Pack.
Collector Mirror Edition — builds on the Deluxe Edition by adding a figurine, a metal case, a physical art book, the soundtrack in both digital and physical formats, and a set of stickers.
Premium Collector Spiral Edition — an exclusive offering from the Bandai Namco Store that includes the Collector Mirror Edition figurine, now enhanced with a music box base, a Nome-shaped controller/phone holder, and a double-sided coin featuring Low and Alone.
All pre-orders will grant the Dark Six Costumes Set on all platforms, as well as early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition. We also learned that The Secrets of The Spiral Expansion Pass will include at least two additional chapters to explore.
And the news doesn't stop there—we also got a first look at an all-new VR adventure titled Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, developed by Iconik Studios.
We previously thought Little Nightmares 2 was good, awarding it a 7/10, with our review stating: "Little Nightmares 2 is every bit as dark, haunting, and visually striking as its predecessor. It is also similarly short, and while the reintroduction of Six as an AI companion serves the storyline effectively, it doesn't lead to significant innovations in puzzle-solving or stealth mechanics—a missed opportunity to elevate the gameplay further."
