Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Classic Nintendo Throwback Event

Pikmin Bloom is getting ready to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic isn’t holding back. This time around, players can look forward to a nostalgic trip down memory lane with the return of some classic Nintendo-themed gadgets in the game. The festivities officially begin with a special event launching on May 1st, 2025.

A Stylish Throwback to Nintendo’s Golden Era!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with unique decorative items, including Pikmin wearing Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. Now, for the 3.5th anniversary, the game is diving even deeper into retro gaming culture by introducing classic Nintendo console-themed decorations. These new Decor Pikmin are inspired by the iconic Nintendo hardware from the 80s and 90s—making this update a real treat for longtime fans.

Additionally, the game introduces a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin, which pays homage to Nintendo’s early days as a playing card manufacturer before it became a legendary video game developer. The design of these cards reflects the company’s vintage playing decks, adding a touch of history to your in-game collection.

The event will run from May 1st through May 31st, 2025, giving you a full month to complete missions and collect exclusive Pikmin. Each time you finish an Event Challenge mission, you’ll receive random rewards such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80–‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will also appear more frequently. Defeating them yields Mystery Boxes containing valuable items like Game Button Cells, flower petals, and more. For maximum efficiency, bring along Nintendo Consoles ‘80–‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin—they’re especially effective against these mushrooms.

May Flowers Are Blooming in Pikmin Bloom

This May, new flowers will be making their appearance in Pikmin Bloom. When planted with red, yellow, white, or blue petals nearby, they can blossom into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or even anniversary roses.

There's also a fresh nectar update in effect. Fruits obtained from mushrooms during May now yield nectar for both regular and special flowers—including carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.

Plenty more surprises await, including Community Day events and other seasonal activities. Don’t miss out—download [ttpp]Pikmin Bloom[/ttpp] from the Google Play Store and get ready to celebrate this special milestone.
