Avowed, set in the rich fantasy world of Eora from the Pillars of Eternity series, offers a diverse, albeit limited, selection of playable races in its character creator. Here's a breakdown:
Humans (Folk)
Humans, the most common race in Avowed, provide extensive customization options. Players can choose from numerous presets, adjust skin tone, and select from a wide variety of hairstyles and textures.
Elves
Elves are another playable race, visually similar to humans but distinguished by their pointed ears and slightly different facial structures.
Godlikes
While all Envoys are Godlikes within the game's narrative, players can opt to incorporate Godlike features into their character's appearance. A range of unique hair and facial options, from subtle to fantastical, are available (14 facial and 4 hair options at launch). These options are available regardless of chosen race or body type.
Character Customization: Gender and Body Type
Avowed offers four body types: two masculine and two feminine, available for both Humans and Elves. Two masculine and two feminine voice options are also available. Players can further customize their character's pronouns, selecting from "he," "she," or "they."
Unplayable Races
While many races populate the world of Avowed (including Dwarves, Aumaua, and Orlans), they are currently not playable options in the character creator. However, future updates or DLC may expand these choices.
