Following a minor leak last week, EA has officially unveiled the title of its upcoming Star Wars game, along with the team behind its development. Titled "Star Wars: Zero Company," the game is being crafted by Bit Reactor, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and Respawn.
Details on "Star Wars: Zero Company" are still sparse, but we do know it will offer a "single-player turn-based tactics game" experience. Fans won't have to wait long for more information, as EA has scheduled a first look at the game for April 19 during Star Wars Celebration in Japan.
Bit Reactor, the studio behind Zero Company, is a fresh strategy game developer established in 2022. The team is comprised of seasoned professionals who have worked on renowned titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. While it's been known that Bit Reactor was collaborating with Respawn on a Star Wars project, the specifics of "Star Wars: Zero Company" are only now coming to light.
The extent of Respawn's involvement in the project remains somewhat ambiguous. The studio has faced numerous challenges recently, including the cancellation of its own Star Wars FPS last year, along with significant layoffs at EA, and the termination of another multiplayer FPS project just last month.
Further details about "Star Wars: Zero Company" are set to be revealed during a live panel on Saturday, April 19 at 4:30pm local time in Japan. For those in the U.S., that translates to an early morning reveal at 12:30am PT and 3:30am ET, so mark your calendars and set your alarms!
