The Last Ronin II #5, written by Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz, with art by Ben Bishop, Isaac Escorza, and Esau Escorza, promises a dramatic and explosive finale.
IDW's official synopsis:
"The second installment in the legendary Last Ronin saga reaches its explosive climax! New York City is engulfed in all-out war, leaving no one safe. Casey, April, Odyn, Yi, Moja, and Uno are all in mortal danger. Will they survive? Their fate rests in the hands of legendary writers Kevin Eastman & Tom Waltz as this chapter of The Last Ronin concludes!"
In a 2024 interview with IGN, Eastman discussed the evolution of the characters: "We wanted to modernize the characters. We have two male and two female Turtles, and Tom and I worked to capture the thoughts, speech, and actions of modern teenagers," he explained. "There's a great mix of personalities, much like the original Turtles. We wanted them to love their family, but not always like them. They argue, disagree, and bicker, but when they need to work together, their family bond is what unites them. That's always been the core of anything we do with the Turtles."
