Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers three distinct campaigns, each featuring a challenging true ending. This guide details how to unlock the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction.
To begin, complete the Shu campaign. This unlocks replayability of past stages. Look for a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban" – this signifies an alternate ending. Normally, you help Liu Bei escape while Zhang Fei defends Changban Bridge. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead of ensuring Liu Bei's escape.
To increase your chances:

Reduce Difficulty: Set the game to Historian mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this a necessary strategy unless you're exceptionally high-level.

Choose Zhang Fei: Selecting Zhang Fei as your partner positions you closer to Cao Cao's army, saving valuable time.
Prepare your Musou Rage meter. Cao Cao will deploy two Grand Tactics: eliminating two officers and defeating 250 soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes proves effective for the latter. Once his army is routed, defeating Cao Cao should be manageable. A few more missions follow before the true Shu ending is revealed.
