Gaijin Entertainment's upcoming War Thunder update, "Firebirds," promises a thrilling influx of new military aviation assets, arriving in early November. This substantial update boasts a diverse range of aircraft and other vehicles.
New Aircraft Additions to War Thunder
The "Firebirds" update introduces several iconic aircraft, including the stealthy American F-117A Nighthawk, the powerful Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber, and the formidable F-15E Strike Eagle. These are just a few of the additions. Ground and naval forces are also receiving reinforcements, such as the British FV107 Scimitar light tank and the French Dunkerque battleship.
Let's examine some key additions: The F-117A Nighthawk marks a first for War Thunder, introducing stealth technology. Its unique design, incorporating radar-absorbing materials, sharp angles to deflect radar waves, and shielded engines, allowed it to achieve remarkable success in Operation Desert Storm, completing over 1,200 sorties without a single loss.
The F-15E Strike Eagle, an enhanced F-15 variant, emphasizes raw power. Its significantly increased payload capacity (50% larger than its predecessor) and ground target detection radar provide unparalleled offensive capabilities. Players will have access to a wide array of weaponry, including AGM-65 Maverick missiles, laser-guided bombs, JDAMs, and even the GBU-39 satellite-guided bombs (capable of deploying 20 at once).
Beyond the Skies: Ground and Naval Enhancements
The "Firebirds" update extends beyond aircraft. Ground forces are bolstered by additions like the agile British FV107 Scimitar, while naval forces receive the French Dunkerque battleship.
The current "Aces High" season offers additional opportunities. Players can unlock unique vehicles, earn trophies, and acquire rewards by completing the season and Battle Pass. These rewards include aircraft such as the Bf 109 G-14, F2G-1, and La-11, along with powerful platoons (T54E2 and G6) and ships (HMS Orion and USS Billfish).
