Xbox Game Pass Welcomes a Snowy Lineup in January 2025

Get ready for a thrilling January on Xbox Game Pass! Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, a day-one title for Ultimate subscribers, drops on January 21st. This exciting addition kicks off a wave of new games arriving in the latter half of the month.

The first half of January saw a few Ultimate-exclusive titles transition to the Standard tier, with the notable exceptions of Diablo (PC Game Pass) and EA Sports UFC 5 (Ultimate). While Microsoft hasn't fully unveiled its January 2025 Wave 2 additions, the lineup is shaping up to be significantly more robust.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, launching on January 21st, offers co-op and PvP modes, and will initially be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This follows the established pattern for day-one releases since the recent tier adjustments.

Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Game Lineup:

  • Carrion - January 2nd
  • Road 96 - January 7th
  • Diablo - January 14th
  • EA Sports UFC 3 - January 14th
  • Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders - January 21st
  • Eternal Strands - January 28th
  • Sniper Elite: Resistance - January 30th
  • Citizen Sleeper 2 - January 31st

Beyond Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, January's second half features a strong selection of day-one releases. Eternal Strands (January 28th), Sniper Elite: Resistance (January 30th), and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (January 31st) join the roster, offering diverse gameplay experiences. Eternal Strands, in particular, stands out, developed by Yellow Brick Games (led by BioWare veteran Mike Laidlaw) and boasting a distinct Zelda-esque feel.

February 2025 currently appears less packed, with Avowed slated for an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate release on February 18th. Until further announcements, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can anticipate a busy January, enjoying Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, and the other day-one titles while awaiting news on February's offerings.
