Join the fight against sea level rise by contributing data!
The Sea Level Rise app empowers citizens to map local flooding, creating a vital record of sea level rise and its effects. While coastal communities worldwide face this challenge, our initiative began in Hampton Roads, Virginia, building upon the invaluable contributions of thousands of volunteers during annual "Catch the King Tide" events. Developed by Wetlands Watch, this app fosters a more informed and connected community, enabling proactive responses to rising sea levels.
Access a wealth of user-submitted information on this global phenomenon and become a volunteer data contributor! Help us gather crucial street-level data to understand and address the challenges of rising seas. The app allows you to:
- Contribute to community-based data collection initiatives, providing researchers and civic leaders with essential localized information.
- Identify and report "Trouble" spots where high water impacts travel during severe weather.
- Capture and share photos documenting the impacts within your community.
- Access dedicated collaboration spaces (regions) to manage volunteers and plan mapping events.
