UPGRADES

The core game is free to play, but optional upgrades let you customize your starting position—choose your faction and initial territory. You can also unleash fantasy battles between any two cultures, with as many warriors as your device can handle! For added creativity, you can edit every character in the world—though keep in mind the game actively uses up to 1,000 characters that are periodically refreshed.

CONTROLS

When controlling an individual character, choose between the "Classic" one-handed control scheme or "Dual Wield," which lets you control each hand independently. If you're new to these systems from the series, you can pause the action anytime by tapping the dateline to study the "Controls" guide. Also, watch for in-game hints from scrolls and books you can collect and read.

You can switch which team member you're controlling at any time—either tap their health bar or point directly at them on the battlefield. Tapping the arrows at the screen's bottom activates "Commander" mode, letting you step back and direct any active ally by swiping from their position to a target. Whether you want them to move, engage an enemy, or collect an item, they’ll interpret your command—but they’ll act on their own timing and may have other priorities!

Regardless of your device or control style, you can always zoom in or out by pinching the center of the screen.

MAP

In the main "Campaign" mode, expand your territory by moving units from one area to any connected region. You can "fortify" a held territory or attempt to seize a rival’s. Note that only 50% of the units in a territory can travel—making invasions more challenging than defense.

The population in any occupied territory may grow after each round, so controlling more land is key. Units also heal gradually over time, so it's wise to rotate your focus across different locations each turn.

PERFORMANCE

Please note: this is the largest-scale game I've developed to date and may require a high-end device for optimal performance. Consider lowering the "Population" setting to reduce on-screen characters, or adjust other options in the "Display" menu.
