Abyss of Dungeons: Dark and Darker Mobile's New Name Unveiled

by Penelope May 17,2025

Krafton has taken a significant step to distance itself from the ongoing legal issues surrounding Ironmace Studios by rebranding Dark and Darker Mobile to Abyss of Dungeons. This move comes amidst Ironmace's legal battle with Nexon over alleged misuse of trade secrets, with Nexon claiming that Ironmace, founded by former employees, utilized assets and ideas developed during their time at Nexon to create Dark and Darker.

The rebranding to Abyss of Dungeons appears to be primarily a name change, with no significant alterations to the core gameplay mechanics of the mobile version. Dark and Darker Mobile was already set to diverge from its original concept with a new third-person perspective and other modifications, but the essence of the game remains intact.

For fans of Ironmace, the rebranding might be disappointing, but there's hope that the legal disputes will resolve soon. In the meantime, Abyss of Dungeons can serve as a complementary experience to the main PC release of Dark and Darker. An upcoming soft launch is scheduled for June 11th in Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mexico, adding to the anticipation.
