Larian Studios announced on a Steam post that a stress test for Patch 8 will begin in January. PC players can access the test via Steam, while console players can participate on Xbox and PlayStation. Mac and GOG users will be excluded from this test. Registration is currently open.
Larian plans to thoroughly test Patch 8 for bugs and stability issues before its official release. They're particularly interested in player feedback on cross-play functionality, a significant undertaking for a game the scale of Baldur's Gate 3. Players are encouraged to register and test cross-play, either with friends or by joining groups on the Larian Studios Discord server.
While Patch 8 marks the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the game's modding community. Further updates are planned to expand modding capabilities, allowing players greater freedom in creating their own content. Since the release of the official mod tools in September, the community has already downloaded over 70 million modules and uploaded over 3,000 mods.
