Ponos's "The Battle Cats" Celebrates 12 Years with a Sengoku-Era Ad Campaign
From ninja cats to "Gross Cat," the wildly popular mobile game "The Battle Cats" is celebrating its 12th anniversary. The game's enduring appeal, built on its unique blend of quirky characters and surprisingly deep strategy, is highlighted in a new ad campaign.
This latest series of commercials transports players to the Sengoku period of Japan, masterfully blending historical elements with the game's signature humor and iconic cat food cans. The campaign, titled "The Way of the Cat," is a collaboration between Ponos and R/GA, resulting in a series of cinematic ads that are both entertaining and engaging.
"As we celebrate 12 years of The Battle Cats, we’re excited to challenge perceptions and showcase the game’s strategic depth," states Ponos' COO and Managing Director Seiichiro Sano. "This collaboration with R/GA honors our heritage while inviting new players to experience the thrill of tactical gameplay in a fresh way."
