How to Start The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Once you’ve completed the tutorial section in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and have access to the open-world, head to Troskowitz and speak with the scribe Gaibl. This conversation will kick off The Lion’s Crest quest. Gaibl will provide you with a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. You'll need to gather the materials on your own, but you can use any blacksmith’s forge to craft the weapon.

The Lion’s Crest Riddle Solution

The riddle you receive from Gaibl reads:

“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”

To solve this riddle, head to Trosky Castle, where you’ll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit the castle through the northern gates and continue north into the forest.

Follow the road and keep an eye on the left side. You’ll soon see rocky formations with small crevices. Navigate through these crevices to reach a cave that contains a chapel. Inside, examine the cross on a rock next to the chapel to find the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour and two treasure maps to guide you further in the quest.

Map 1

Using the first treasure map, continue west along the road from the chapel until you reach a crossroads. From there, go north into the woods to find a wolf den. Above the den, near some trees, you’ll find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.

Map 2

The second map directs you to Vidlak Pond. Follow the path behind the fisherman’s house and look for a large rock formation along the cliffs. Climb up to find a chest next to a cross, which holds another piece of the armour.

Map 3

For the third map, fast travel to Zhelejov and head towards the tavern. Leave the settlement and cross the two bridges towards Tachov. After the second bridge, take a small path leading to the river and forest. Follow this path to a hill and examine the large tree at the top to find bones and a bag with more armour pieces.

Map 4

The final map leads you to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. Search for rocks with a cross on top. Here, you’ll find the last piece of Brunswick’s armour.

And that’s how to successfully start and complete The Lion’s Crest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. For more tips and information on the game, including romance options and the best perks to prioritize, be sure to check out The Escapist.
