Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets a Bunch of New Details

PlayOnimusha: Way of the Sword is set to launch in 2026, and Capcom has shared some thrilling insights into what fans can expect from this new installment. The development team is focusing on three key areas: creating compelling characters, introducing a new protagonist, and crafting engaging enemies. They are dedicated to recreating the historical setting of Kyoto, filled with real-life locations, to immerse players in a rich environment. Additionally, the team aims to deliver the "ultimate sword fighting action" experience, emphasizing the visceral satisfaction of combat.

While specifics about the new protagonist remain under wraps, it's confirmed that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be set during the Edo Period, where players will battle against the evil Genma creatures. Our protagonist, due to a twist of fate, will wield the powerful Oni Gauntlet, using it to defeat foes and absorb their souls. The game is designed to be challenging yet accessible, ensuring action fans of all skill levels can fully enjoy the experience.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Is Getting a Remastered Version in 2025

PlayThe 2002 classic, Onimusha: Samurai's Destiny, is slated for a remastered release in 2025. This remaster aims to bridge the gap for fans eagerly awaiting Onimusha: Way of the Sword in 2026.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 to Feature Flagship Monster Arkveld

PlayThe second Open Beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds is on the horizon, and Capcom has revealed what players can expect. A major highlight is the introduction of the flagship monster, Arkveld, available in an advanced quest designed to challenge players. The beta will also include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, and online features such as Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Private Lobbies won't appear in public searches, making them ideal for playing with friends, while Online Single Player mode allows solo play with the option to switch to multiplayer using an S.O.S. Flare.

Players can transfer their data from the first Open Beta to this new one, with the Character Creator, Story Trial, and Doshaguma hunt making a return. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to release on February 28, and the second Open Beta, featuring Cross-Play, will run from:

  • Thursday, February 6 at 7pm PT to Sunday, February 9 at 6:59pm PT
  • Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT to Sunday, February 16 at 6:59pm PT
PlayParticipants in the Open Beta will be able to transfer their character data to the full game, though game progression will not carry over. As a bonus, participants will receive a special Pendant.

Monster Hunter Wilds Reveals Iceshard Cliffs and New Enemies Just Waiting to Be Fought

The Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase also unveiled a new story trailer set in the Iceshard Cliffs, a frozen locale inhabited by intriguing creatures like the Wudwud known as Rove, the Hirabami - Leviathan, Nerscylla - Temnoceran, and the fierce Gore Magala. PlayCapcom Fighting Collection 2 is scheduled to launch on May 16, 2025, featuring a lineup of classic fighting games including Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword: Night of Bilstein.

Street Fighter 6 Adds Fatal Fury's Mai on February 5

PlayStreet Fighter 6 will welcome Fatal Fury's Mai to its roster on February 5. Mai will be the second-to-last character added in Year 2, following M. Bison and Terry. The final character, Elena, will be introduced later, with more details to be revealed in the future.
