NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh with regular updates. The plan is to release updates approximately every six weeks, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This ensures a constant stream of new content to keep players engaged.
Game director Guangyun Chen revealed that each season's update is divided into two parts: one new hero in the first half, and another in the second. This approach maintains player interest. Beyond new heroes, updates will also include new maps, storylines, and challenges.
Several characters have already been announced, including the upcoming playable Blade and Altron (previously leaked). The addition of the full Fantastic Four team has also been confirmed.
According to GameLook, a Chinese publication, Marvel Rivals has generated approximately $100 million globally, with a significant portion coming from the Chinese market. This marks a significant foray into gaming for Marvel, a powerhouse in the film industry.
Marvel Rivals successfully filled a void in the hero-shooter genre following the less-than-stellar reception of Square Enix's Avengers game. NetEase delivered a high-quality title boasting a compelling roster of characters, earning positive reviews upon its release.
