Unlocking Gem Crafting
Gem crafting unlocks after joining Liu Bei's Volunteer Army in Chapter 1. Visit an inn to receive a letter from Zhang Fei, introducing Gems and their raw material, Pyroxene.
Acquiring Pyroxene
Pyroxene is found throughout the overworld as large, gem-like formations. These spawn randomly, so explore diligently during your travels. Additionally, Pyroxene can be obtained as rewards for side quests, collecting Old Coins, and reading letters at inns.
Crafting Gems
Return to an inn to craft Gems from your collected Pyroxene. The crafting process is randomized; the number of Pyroxene used doesn't affect the outcome. However, a white glowing aura around a Gem type in the crafting menu indicates that only Gems of that specific type can be created during that crafting session.
Gem Leveling and Strategic Use
Gems level up with repeated crafting. Focus on refining Pyroxene into a specific Gem type to maximize its benefits. Early game, you equip only one Gem at a time, so choose wisely based on the battle type. For example, the Wellspring Gem (healing based on enemy kills) suits large-scale battles, while the Ascendence Gem (increased block chance against officers) is better for duels. While initial buffs are modest, consistent crafting significantly enhances their impact.
