Days Gone Remastered is just around the corner, and Bend Studio has unveiled key accessibility features for the upcoming release, including an innovative gameplay speed adjustment option during intense moments.
In a PlayStation Blog update, Creative & Product Lead Kevin McAllister detailed how the remastered edition allows players to dynamically modify gameplay speed across four settings—from normal 100% down to 75%, 50% and 25%—catering to gamers who need extra time during high-stakes encounters.
"The speed modification feature empowers players who might find horde battles overwhelming," McAllister explained. "With our new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, we're ensuring this signature gameplay experience remains accessible to all skill levels."
The remaster introduces comprehensive accessibility upgrades including customizable subtitle colors, High Contrast Mode, UI narration, and audio cues for collectibles. Quick-time event auto-completion, previously limited to Easy mode, now works across all difficulty levels.
While launching with the remaster, Bend confirmed most accessibility improvements will also come to the PC version. Certain controller-specific features will require compatible hardware to function properly.
Announced in February, this enhanced edition of the 2019 apocalyptic biker adventure includes photo mode enhancements, permadeath/speedrun options alongside its accessibility innovations. The anticipated remake launches sooner than expected.
Mark your calendars: Days Gone Remastered arrives April 25, 2025. PS4 owners can upgrade to the PS5 version for just $10.
