Dragon Quest XII remains under development, with updates to be revealed gradually, according to series creator Yuji Horii.
During a recent livestream with his radio show group, KosoKoso Hōsō Kyoku, Horii confirmed that the Square Enix development team is diligently working on Dragon Quest XII. This marks the first official update since May 2024, following the passing of key figures Akira Toriyama and Koichi Sugiyama, and the departure of lead producer Yu Miyake.
Previous restructuring at Square Enix and a lack of news had sparked fan concerns about the game's potential cancellation. However, Horii's statement allays these fears, assuring fans that development continues.
