In Dune: Awakening, sandworms are a formidable force of nature, not controllable entities. Unlike in Frank Herbert's novels where characters could summon worms using a thumper, this mechanic is absent from the game.

Sandworms are independent NPCs, each with programmed patrol routes, schedules, and behaviors. You can't summon a sandworm to attack opponents. However, actions like moving through the sand or using a thumper might attract their attention, though this isn't guaranteed.
Riding sandworms, a hallmark of Freman culture in the books and films, is also unavailable in Dune: Awakening. The developers attribute this omission to considerations from the Dune film franchise.
Future updates may introduce more Fremen-centric content, potentially including worm riding, but this remains uncertain for now.
Dune: Awakening launches on PC May 20th, with console releases to follow.
