The key is to gather every resource you encounter. Don't overlook even seemingly insignificant items; you never know what you'll need later.
Animal Grooming:
Grooming animals provides valuable materials. Use the grooming suit (access it by pressing Tab and selecting the brush icon).
Approach animals and hold the right mouse button until a blue brush icon appears above them. Release the button to begin grooming. Note that some animals may flee; sneaking up (holding the right mouse button until the icon appears) prevents this.
While combat skills can temporarily incapacitate animals, sneaking is a more efficient approach.
Feather Collection:
Remember to collect feathers from birds. Use the same stealth approach as with other animals to avoid scaring them away.
