Escape Academy, the acclaimed escape-room puzzle game, is the Epic Games Store's free offering for January 16th, 2025. This marks the fourth free game Epic has offered this year and, boasting an 80 average score and 88% recommendation rate on OpenCritic, is set to be the highest-rated freebie of 2025 so far.
Epic Games Store users have until January 23rd to claim their free copy of Escape Academy. Developed by Coin Crew Games, the game challenges players to hone their escape-room skills as students at the titular academy, training to become "escape room masters." Originally released in July 2022 for PC and consoles, this will be the first time Escape Academy has been offered free for a full week on the EGS. This is particularly timely for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as the game is leaving the service on January 15th.
While previously offered as a free mystery game on the EGS on January 1st, 2024, this giveaway provides a full week of access. Escape Academy offers both solo and multiplayer options, including online and split-screen co-op, highly praised as one of the best co-op puzzle games recently.
