Fortnite reverses its controversial decision about one of the skins

The iconic Master Chief, star of the Halo franchise and a popular Fortnite skin, recently returned to the item shop after a two-year hiatus, much to the delight of fans. However, this joyous reunion was briefly overshadowed by a controversial decision.

Initially, a special Matte Black style for the skin, originally offered to Xbox Series S|X players, was slated for removal. This announcement caused considerable backlash, with some players even threatening legal action, citing misleading advertising. The claim was that the style was previously advertised as permanently available.

Fortunately, Epic Games swiftly reversed course within 24 hours. The Matte Black style is now available to all Master Chief skin owners who play a single match on an Xbox Series S|X console.

This reversal appears to be a wise move, particularly given the holiday season. Spoiling the festive cheer with such a contentious issue would have been ill-advised.
