Freedom Wars Remastered plunges players into a dystopian future as Sinners, tasked with defending humanity from monstrous Abductors. Enhancing your combat prowess is key, and upgrading weapons and accessories is a crucial part of this process. This involves boosting their base stats and integrating modules for additional enhancements.

The game allows players to upgrade their arsenal from the early stages, eliminating the need to depend solely on mission rewards or enemy drops. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the process of upgrading both weapons and accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

Upgrading your weapons in Freedom Wars Remastered is straightforward but requires reaching Level 002 Code Clearance through the main storyline. Once you're a CODE 2 Sinner, you'll unlock the Facility Management Function via the Personal Responsibility Portal. Navigate to the Weapon Development Facility to manage your weapons. Upgrades demand specific resources and Entitlement Points, though you can lower these costs by recruiting Citizens with varying Facility Manager Aptitudes.

Before finalizing an upgrade, a preview screen will show you the potential stat improvements. The Weapon Development Facility also lets you add Elements and tinker with Modules and Module Slots. To elevate your weapon to a higher Grade, you'll need to acquire the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

Early missions in the main story don't typically yield high-Grade weapons, making weapon upgrades nearly indispensable. Although you can buy weapons and combat items from Zakka in The Warren, most are limited to Grade Level 1. Upgrading becomes essential, especially when facing your CODE 3 Exams, which require higher Grade Development Facility Permits. These permits enable you to upgrade any weapon, allowing you to retain your preferred gear while donating Low-Grade weapons found during missions for a reduced sentence and extra Entitlement Points.

Not only does upgrading enhance your combat capabilities, but it also unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, along with other achievements related to the upgrading system, which is a big draw for trophy hunters. The noticeable damage disparity between weapons of different Grades further motivates players to invest time in upgrading their gear.

Later in the game, players gain access to the Ability Development Facility within Facility Management, adding another layer to your character's development.
