Sucker Punch Productions will unveil a Ghost of Yōtei gameplay showcase during a dedicated State of Play event next month.
A PlayStation Blog post confirmed plans to demonstrate how the anticipated samurai sequel has refined its combat systems, published shortly after today's June 2025 State of Play. While the Ghost of Tsushima follow-up made a brief appearance at the presentation's conclusion, this mainly served as confirmation that Sucker Punch remains on track for its October launch window.
Though Ghost of Yōtei's fleeting appearance may have left some fans wanting more, the July State of Play's in-depth gameplay reveal promises substantial new details. While no specific date has been announced, Sucker Punch confirms this dedicated showcase will highlight Yōtei's "enhanced gameplay systems spanning exploration, combat, and additional features."
The studio officially revealed its Ghost of Tsushima sequel last September, introducing new protagonist Atsu's violent odyssey through 1603 Japan. While fans have eagerly awaited narrative and mechanical details since the 2020 original's release, director Nate Fox assures this installment will maintain the same culturally respectful approach to Japanese history and settings.
