Google Play Store may soon introduce a game-changing feature: automatic app launch upon installation. This potential addition, discovered through an APK teardown, could streamline the app download process significantly.
The Details:
Android Authority reports that Google is developing "App Auto Open," a feature designed to automatically open newly downloaded apps. This eliminates the extra steps of locating and opening the app manually. The feature's implementation is currently unconfirmed, stemming from an analysis of Play Store version 41.4.19.
The feature is expected to be entirely optional, giving users full control over whether or not apps auto-launch. A brief notification banner, possibly accompanied by a sound or vibration alert, will appear for approximately five seconds upon download completion, ensuring users don't miss the launch.
While an official release date remains unannounced, we will provide updates as soon as Google releases more information.
