In *Fields of Mistria*, expanding your farm is essential as you progress and need more space for your crops and animals. The farm expansion feature, introduced in the v0.13.0 update, offers a solution by allowing you to extend your farm across the river to the right, providing additional land for more structures and crop spaces.

To unlock the farm expansion, head over to the **Carpenter’s Shop** located in the Eastern Road area. You can purchase the expansion as early as your first year in town, but you must meet certain progress requirements first. The town needs to reach **Rank 55** by accumulating enough Renown points. Additionally, you must complete the Stone Refinery repair quest, which also requires Town Rank 55 to unlock. These steps are interconnected, so plan accordingly.
Once you've met these prerequisites, the next step is gathering the materials needed for the expansion. This is a significant investment, so be prepared for a substantial effort.
How to Build Farm Expansion in Fields of Mistria

Visit the Carpenter’s Shop on the Eastern Road, northeast of Mistria’s town center. From the shop’s main menu, select ‘Farm Expansion’ at the bottom to view the requirements.
The first requirement is **40,000 Tesserae**, which covers the monetary cost of the upgrade. Accumulating this amount will take time, so maximize your efforts in gathering, farming, and completing quests. Regularly visit the Mines, fish when possible, and turn in new items to the Museum to boost your Tesserae.
Next, you’ll need **50 x Refined Stone**. To obtain this, you must repair the **Stone Refinery**, which becomes available once you reach Town Rank 55 and after repairing the Inn.
Finally, gather **50 x Hard Wood**, the easiest material to acquire. With a **Copper Axe**, you can chop **large tree stumps** found around your farm and beyond, each yielding 2 x Hard Wood. You can also acquire Hard Wood from **Balor’s Cart** on certain days or by turning in items to the Museum.
Once you have all the required materials and money, return to the Carpenter’s Shop and purchase the expansion. This will extend your farm eastward across the river, complete with a new bridge for access.
