Honkai Star Rail 3.2 to Introduce Changes to Banner System for More Player Freedom

by Dylan Mar 17,2025

Honkai: Star Rail's gacha system is getting a major overhaul, giving players more control over their character pulls. Leaks suggest version 3.2 will introduce a customizable pity system for limited banners, a significant change to how the gacha works.

According to leaks from Sakura Haven, the 3.2 update lets you personalize your 50/50 pity pool. Instead of the standard 7 characters, you'll choose your preferred characters from a larger selection. These chosen characters can partially or fully replace the default pool, giving you far more agency.

Currently, the 50/50 pity pool contains 7 standard characters. Version 3.2 replaces this with a "Group" of characters you select. You'll choose 7 characters from this group, forming your personalized 50/50 pool. Losing the 50/50 now means getting a character from *your* custom pool, not the default one.

This "Group" will initially include the 7 standard characters plus a selection of others.

This update is a game-changer. It directly addresses a major gacha frustration: the randomness of losing pity pulls. By prioritizing desired characters, players get a better chance of obtaining units that fit their playstyle.

However, details are still scarce. It’s unclear which past, present, or future characters will be available for selection in this personalized pity pool.

This customizable pity system shows miHoYo's commitment to improving Honkai: Star Rail. It acknowledges the importance of player choice in gacha games and could set a new standard for future gacha systems.

While the full impact remains to be seen, the news has already generated huge excitement. Fans are eagerly anticipating the 3.2 launch to experience this new feature firsthand.
