Introducing

A new Sims game is in the works, and it's available now in Australia! While not the highly anticipated Sims 5, The Sims Labs: Town Stories offers a taste of what's to come. Currently in its playtest phase, this mobile simulation game is part of EA's Sims Labs project, a testing ground for new gameplay ideas.

This mobile title, a departure from the main series, blends classic Sims building with character-driven narratives. Players construct neighbourhoods, guide residents through personal stories, manage careers, and uncover Plumbrook's secrets.

Initial reactions have been mixed, with some expressing concern over the graphics and the potential for microtransactions. However, given its experimental nature, the game's current state likely reflects unfinished concepts that may evolve significantly during development.

The game is listed on the Google Play Store, but currently only available for download in Australia. Interested players outside Australia can register via EA's website to participate in the playtest when it expands. Early gameplay footage suggests familiar Sims mechanics, hinting at potential future features for the franchise.
