Warhorse Studios has recently unveiled a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - version 1.2, packed with exciting new features. This update introduces native mod integration via the Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system, enhancing both customization and gameplay.
The Steam Workshop integration streamlines the process of finding, downloading, and installing mods directly within the game, eliminating the hassle of third-party platforms. However, this feature's success hinges on mod creators uploading their work to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is modest, featuring mods such as:
- Free Saving: This mod provides unlimited saves by continuously replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever it's used or lost.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a unique horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
- Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, allowing players to explore restricted story locations freely.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra, adding a fun visual twist to your adventures.
Although the current mod offerings are limited, the vibrant modding community is expected to grow rapidly. With over a thousand mods already available on Nexus Mods, many creators are likely to start sharing their work on Steam Workshop as well. While it may not match Nexus Mods' scale, popular mods are bound to make their way to Steam Workshop soon.

Complementing the mod support, the new barber shop system allows players to visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to change their hairstyle or beard design. No matter the style chosen, a visit to the barber provides a temporary boost to the protagonist's Charisma stat, enhancing social interactions.
Beyond these headline features, update 1.2 includes over a thousand fixes and improvements, as detailed in the extensive changelog on the game's official website. Warhorse Studios has worked tirelessly to refine almost every aspect of the game, from balancing adjustments and animation enhancements to better NPC behavior. Notably, the crime system has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.
Other significant updates include revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more realistic, enhanced horse riding mechanics and trading systems, and improved character visuals and performance, particularly in Kuttenberg and during large-scale battles.
Warhorse Studios plans to provide more insight into these changes during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains committed to supporting Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.
With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a plethora of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, delivering an ever-richer medieval experience to its players.
