Marvel Rivals Announces Balancing Changes in Season 1

Marvel Rivals Season 1: Dracula, Fantastic Four, and Balance Changes Detailed

NetEase Games has unveiled exciting details about Marvel Rivals' Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST. This season introduces Dracula as the primary antagonist and welcomes the Fantastic Four to the game's roster. The Fantastic Four's arrival will be staggered: Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman debut on launch day, with Human Torch and The Thing joining the fray six to seven weeks later.

The Season 1 battle pass, priced at 990 Lattice (approximately $10), offers 10 skins and rewards players with 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion. Three new maps and a fresh game mode, "Doom Match," will also enhance the gameplay experience.

A recent developer video highlighted significant balance adjustments. Hela and Hawkeye, deemed overpowered in Season 0, will receive nerfs. Conversely, mobility-focused Vanguards like Captain America and Venom are slated for buffs to improve their battlefield effectiveness.

Further balance changes aim to boost underperforming heroes. Wolverine and Storm will receive enhancements to encourage strategic utilization, while Cloak and Dagger will see improvements to broaden their team compatibility. Adjustments are also planned for Jeff the Land Shark, addressing inconsistencies between his early warning indicators and ultimate attack hitbox. While Jeff's ultimate has drawn criticism for being overpowered, NetEase Games hasn't detailed specific nerfs to this ability.

The developer update remained silent on potential changes to the Seasonal Bonus feature, a point of contention among players who believe its removal would improve overall balance. Despite this uncertainty, Season 1 promises a wealth of new content and is generating considerable anticipation among players.
