Marvel Rivals Unveils Season 1's Sanctum Sanctorum Map: A Battleground of Opulence and Oddity
Marvel Rivals' Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, introduces a thrilling new map: the Sanctum Sanctorum. This iconic location will host the game's new Doom Match mode, a chaotic free-for-all for 8-12 players where the top half emerge victorious. The season also features Dracula as the primary antagonist, with the Fantastic Four leading the charge against his forces.
The Sanctum Sanctorum, alongside Midtown and Central Park maps, expands Marvel Rivals' gameplay. Midtown will be the stage for a new convoy mission, while Central Park's features remain largely under wraps, slated for a mid-season update.
A recent video showcased the Sanctum Sanctorum's unique design, blending lavish decor with surreal elements. Floating kitchenware, a bizarre refrigerator creature, winding staircases, and magical artifacts create a visually captivating environment. Even a portrait of Doctor Strange himself adorns the walls, alongside a surprise appearance by Wong, a beloved character new to the game. Doctor Strange's spectral canine companion, Bats, also makes a cameo. The level of detail is striking, a testament to the developers' dedication.
The Fantastic Four take center stage in Doctor Strange's absence, defending New York City. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman debut with Season 1, joined later by Human Torch and The Thing in the mid-season update. With exciting new content on the way, Marvel Rivals continues to build anticipation for its future.
