New Monster, New Hunt!

Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second Open Beta Test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February.

Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase provides another opportunity to experience the game before its official launch on February 28th. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the news via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.

The beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This time, it includes additional content absent from the first beta, most notably the chance to hunt the Gypceros, a familiar foe from the series.

Character data from the first beta can be carried over and transferred to the full game upon release. However, game progress will not be saved. Participating beta testers receive rewards: a Stuffed Felyne Teddy weapon charm and a special bonus item pack to aid early game progress.

"Many players missed the first beta, or wanted a second chance," Tsujimoto explained. "This is why we're offering this additional opportunity. Development on the full game continues at full speed." While a pre-launch community update video detailed planned improvements, these changes won't be included in this beta.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S February 28th, 2025. Get ready to hunt!
