Developer_Direct may have showcased DOOM: The Dark Ages as a visual highlight, but another major announcement stole the spotlight: Ninja Gaiden 4. Set for a Fall 2025 release, this highly anticipated sequel to Koei Tecmo's popular series promises a return to action-packed ninja slashing with Ryu Hayabusa at the helm.
The debut trailer showcased thrilling new mechanics, including the ability to swiftly navigate the environment using wires and rails, adding a new dimension to the classic gameplay. The game's setting is a striking cyberpunk city perpetually drenched in toxic rain, where Ryu will confront waves of genetically modified soldiers and terrifying creatures from another realm, all while striving to lift an ancient curse plaguing the megacity.
Adding to the excitement, a massive remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 has already launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and is available via Game Pass. Team Ninja’s UE5 port boasts completely overhauled character models, visual effects, and environments, incorporating elements from later series installments, and even adding three new playable characters.
Koei Tecmo’s extensive work on both Ninja Gaiden 4 and the Ninja Gaiden 2 remaster is truly impressive, and deserves the considerable community attention it's receiving.
