Nintendo to Close Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Yes, you read the headline correctly! Nintendo has announced the end-of-service (EOS) for the beloved mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, leaving many players in shock. Despite its ongoing popularity, the game is set to close its online services. Let's delve into the details!

When Are They Shutting Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp?

The online services for Pocket Camp will cease on November 28th, 2024. If you're still enjoying your time at your cozy campsite, now's the time to cherish these final moments. Interestingly, the game will celebrate its seventh anniversary on November 21st, just days before its EOS.

This means no more acquiring Leaf Tickets or renewing Pocket Camp Club memberships. Auto-renewals for the Pocket Camp Club will stop on October 28th, 2024. If your membership continues past this date, you won't receive a refund, but you will get a special badge in your mailbox.

Make sure to grab those Leaf Tickets while you can; the last day to do so is November 26th, 2024. Prepare to bid a final farewell to the online community on November 28th at 7:00 AM PST.

But Here’s Some Good News: It’s Not A Complete Farewell!

Nintendo is planning to release a paid offline version of the game. While it won't include features like Market Boxes, gifts, or visiting friends' campsites, the core gameplay will remain intact.

You'll be able to retain all your saved data and continue playing without an internet connection. More details about this new paid version are expected to be announced around October 2024, so stay tuned.

It's worth noting that Nintendo has been gradually phasing out its mobile games, with titles like Dr. Mario World, Dragalia Lost, and now Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp following suit. Even Mario Kart Tour has been placed in maintenance mode. Therefore, the shutdown of Pocket Camp may not come as a complete surprise to some.

If you want to make the most of these last few moments, you can still download and play Pocket Camp from the Google Play Store. And don't forget to check out our next story on Monument Valley 3 by Netflix.
